Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries

We value children at Augustana and provide information, encouragement and funding if necessary to those who would like to participate in the camping ministries of Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (NLOM). We offer scholarships to the Project Embrace summer program participants for the last week of camp each year. Pastor Jan also serves on the board of NLOM.

Omaha Together One Community

From the OTOC website: "OTOC exists to recreate community.   In our fragmented society, people are disconnected and conversations about important issues are often difficult.  OTOC seeks to reweave the frayed social fabric and connect people across the lines that tend to divide them:  race, economics, religion, geography." Augustana Lutheran is a member institution of OTOC and Augustana members serve on the Omaha Together One Community (OTOC) planning team. Through one-on-one conversation and establishment of relationships, OTOC has affected meaningful change in the city of Omaha in many different areas. Learn more at otoc.org

Project Hope Food Pantry

Members of Augustana assist with various facets of the Project Hope Food Pantry including donations of food, paper products and other items as well as unloading the truck on delivery day.

Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska

Augustana partners with Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) to provide space for ESL classes for the refugee community that lives in Midtown Omaha. Refugees from several countries participate in these beginning level classes to help them transition to our country. We also participated in 2014 in the LFS Diaper Derby to provide diapers for their North Omaha Center for Healthy Families as well as making donations of quilts to the North Omaha Center.
